Getting started
Quick start
Lumbung stores code with git โ like GitLab or GitHub, but built into the rest of Jianren. This guide takes you from zero to your first push in five steps.
1. Request Lumbung access
To create your own repos, an admin needs to approve your account once:
- Open Lumbung access request.
- Briefly describe what you'll use Lumbung for, then send it.
- Once approved you get a notification and 2 GB of storage.
Invited to someone else's repo? You don't need to request access โ skip to step 3.
2. Create a repo
- Click + in the top bar โ New repo, or open New repo.
- Enter a name and choose Private (you and people you invite) or Public (anyone can view).
- Tick Create README to be able to clone right away, or leave it empty if you'll push an existing project.
An empty repo page shows copy-ready commands for every scenario.
3. Set up credentials
Git needs to know who you are. Pick one:
| Method | Best for | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| HTTPS + token | easiest, works everywhere | Access tokens |
| SSH + key | no passwords at all | SSH keys |
Your Jianren account password is not used for git.
4. Introduce yourself to git (once per computer)
git config --global user.name "Nama Kamu"
git config --global user.email "kamu@contoh.id"
This name & email appear on every commit you make.
5. Push your first code
A project folder that doesn't use git yet?
cd project_folder
git init --initial-branch=main
git remote add origin https://jianren.cloud/lumbung/ruang-nama/nama-repo.git
git add .
git commit -m "Initial commit"
git push --set-upstream origin main
An existing git repo (e.g. from GitHub)?
cd existing_repo
git remote rename origin old-origin
git remote add origin https://jianren.cloud/lumbung/ruang-nama/nama-repo.git
git push --set-upstream origin --all
git push --set-upstream origin --tags
When git asks for a Username, type anything (e.g. your nickname); when it asks for a Password, paste your token.
